Introduction to Me

 All About Me

Hi y'all! My name is Morgan Pask and I am currently enrolled in Mythology and Folklore this semester! For this assignment, I wanted to share a little bit about me so y'all can get to know me better! Let's jump in!

(Me at Rosemary Beach, FL)

I was born on September 24th, 1998 in Dayton, Ohio! I have one older sister, Mackenzie who is twenty 24 years old! Shortly after being born, my family packed our bags and moved to the sunny state of California! My dad was working for HP at the time so that's what triggered the move. My family LOVED California! There we endless trips to Disney, countless days playing in the waves at the beach, and numerous afternoons just soaking in the sunshine! After five short years, we packed up again and moved to The Woodlands, Texas! The Woodlands is a suburb of Houston! We lived there for fourteen years and that's where I completed all my schooling! Fast forward to present day, you can find my family settled in Dallas, Texas! We moved to Dallas about two years ago and we just finished building our house! Yay!

Aside from where I come from, I wanted to also share a little personal information about me! I am currently a senior at the University of Oklahoma! Boomer Sooner! I am majoring in Advertising and minoring in Enterprise Studies. After I graduate, I hope to either work for a fashion magazine in their copywriting department or become a wedding planner! I want to move either back home to Dallas or venture out to Chicago! I just love city life! I am a super creative person so that is why I want to work in an industry that lets me be creative and challenges me to work outside the box!

Also I wanted to share a few of my favorite things as well! I am a HUGE Dr. Pepper fan and you can always find me with one in my hand! I love cats as well! I have a cat named Leo and he is my whole world! I love watching reruns of Gilmore Girls and if I could meet one celebrity it would be either Kate Middleton or Reese Witherspoon! I love staying active and running is a great way for me to do that! I also love baking, hanging out with friends, and drawing on my iPad!

I hope y'all enjoyed getting to know a little bit about me! I loved sharing my life and where I come from with y'all! Good luck with this semester!

xoxo,

Morgan

  1. Hi Morgan!

It's great to meet you! What did your Dad do for HP, and where does he work now? What is Enterprise Studies? I'm guessing it's something to do with business and not the U.S.S. Enterprise. I'm going to need to see a picture of Leo. Dr. Pepper is also my FAVORITE! Have you been to the Dr. Pepper Museum in Waco? It's worth the trip!

Most important question: Do you have any iPad drawing tutorial suggestions? I got an Apple pencil over the summer and I haven't gotten to play around too much with drawing apps, but having my Apple pencil has made a huge difference in what I've been able to do!

    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Hello, my name is Rachel. Trips to Disneyland sound amazing. I’ve been to Disney World, but I’ve always wanted to go the original park.

Yes! I love the Gilmore Girls. It became one of my favorite shows that I shared with my mother. We spent hours glued to the screen. I have to ask who did you like more Luke or Christopher? And, Jess or Logan? No hard feeling for any of the options, I’m just curious.

I think your career options sound fascinating and exciting. I am the same way. I love city life. Drawing on your iPad. That’s cool. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you draw? Is it doodles and sketches?

  3. Hey Morgan! First I wanna say I have the same shirt you're wearing in your picture and it is one of my absolute favorites in my closet! Also, I am from the Dallas area, so I hope you and your family are enjoying living there. It definitely has a big place in my heart (even though Texas sucks). I visited Chicago in February, and it definitely would be an amazing place to end up! I hope you have a great senior year!

  4. Hey Morgan!
I'm also a senior here at OU (well technically a 5th year senior but who's counting). Reading about your dream to be a wedding planner reminded me of one of my close friends, she actually just purchased Prim Bridal and franchised it into a Bella Bridesmaids store in OKC!! I know she is super involved with Brides of OK and many other groups, if you have any desire to reach out to her let me know and I'd love to give you her info! (i promise she is literally the friendliest person)
I'm glad to hear your cat is nice... we joke around and call my cat the "she-devil". She doesn't really enjoy interacting with humans or other animals, she mainly cares about her food bowl. But, regardless of her attitude, I'm still her "mom" so I have to love her :). Anyways, good with your semester!!

  5. I hope this class can be a good way for you to try all kinds of new creative experiments, Morgan! The best kind of advertising IMO uses creative storytelling... I always share this Travelers ad because I love the way it tells a story using no words, just this adorable dog: dog with bone - link ... and my favorite cat commercial is this milk ad, ha ha: Cravendale Milk - link ... so maybe you can think of some stories-as-ads this semester and just see what happens! That's a way to take your storytelling outside the box for sure, and also to have fun. :-)

  6. Hi Morgan! It was so interesting to read that you grew up in California - that's so cool!! I love Disney, and I'm jealous you had such easy access. Additionally, one of my close friends from OU is from the Woodlands, so that's fun! I would love to meet Kate Middleton as well .. maybe after covid we can all travel to England :)

  7. Hi Morgan! You have definitely lived in so many cool places. I cannot say the same I have lived in Oklahoma my whole life and actually only really moved about 10 miles to campus when I came to OU. I have travelled alot and been to California and loved every minute. Unfortunately, I have never been to Disney Land but it is on my bucket list for sure! I also share a love for running and baking too!

  8. Hi Morgan,

You have lived all over the country, wow! Did you like California or Texas better? Also, what part of Dallas are you from? I currently live in Coppell but I grew up in Carrollton.

My family and I are also HUGE Disney fans, except we like Disney World a million times better than Disneyland, sorry! Have you been to Disney World or just Disneyland?

Looking forward to reading your stories this semester!

  9. Hi Morgan! Super random thought, but seeing that you love Dr. Pepper just reminded me of a professor I had over the summer, Professor Martin. She LOVED Dr. Pepper and would stop lecture (which was online at the time) between every other topic just to rejuvenate herself with some! I also LOVE Gilmore Girls, I used to watch it with my sister when it was on television in real time so I never saw it in order, but I was always stuck between Logan and Jess!

  10. Hi Morgan! It's amazing to hear that you have lived in all those states! I wonder which state you liked more? I will put my bet on California, just because of the endless trips to Disney and beautiful beaches you had. I hope you will enjoy more Dallas or Chicago after your graduation. And by the way i moved from Dallas to Norman last year. Which part of Dallas are you from ?

  11. Hi Morgan, it was great to get to know more about you! That's pretty cool that you've gotten to live in a couple of different states. Which one was your favorite? California sounds like it would be a great place to live! The beaches and weather sound amazing. That is awesome that you are a fan of the city life! I think I prefer the country myself. It seems much quieter and more peaceful, at least to me. It was nice to meet you! Best of luck this semester!

  12. Hi Morgan, your personal introduction is very impressive and amazing. About you want to work on a fashion magazine company, and you also want to be a wedding planner. I would say these jobs are all suit for you since I realized you are really creative when I read this blog.

  13. Hey Morgan, that's cool that you were able to go to Disney a lot! I truly don't remember the last time I went, but I hope in the future that I can go again as a nostalgic type of vacation. That said, I think that you potentially becoming a wedding planner is awesome. Of course, wedding planners are absolutely important, but it just slipped my mind that that's something people can genuinely go out and do. Nevertheless, I hope you get to do whichever profession and have fun with it! They both sound so interesting and like they'd offer a whole lot of memorable moments!

  14. Morgan, I really liked reading your introduction. Also, happy late birthday! I also am a big fan of city life. I would love to move to Chicago after graduation. I think it would be a great city to start your career in! I can definitely tell you're an ad major by how aesthetic your blog is - seriously it's so cute! I also love watching Gilmore Girls. My sister and mom and I all watched the whole show during quarantine this summer. It was a nice distraction. Good luck with the rest of the course!

  15. Hi Morgan! (Side note: you have the same birthday as my best friend!) Anyways, I'm also a senior but I'm majoring in PR and minoring in Enterprise Studies (Gaylord all the way!) And super small world, I'm actually a certified wedding planner so If you ever want some more info or any advice definitely send me a message! I'm excited to read your stories this semester!

  16. Hey Morgan! It's really cool that you have gotten to live in so many places. It's also inspiring that you want to go into a field that needs so much creativity. You should show off some of your drawings on your blog, that could be a cool way to get pictures for all the posts. City life sounds great! I've always lived in Oklahoma, so I've wondered about what living in a big city and always being surrounded by so many people would be like.

  17. Hey Morgan,
Super cool that you've gotten to live in some really cool spots. I am from California too and have lived there my whole life. Wish you all the best during this crazy year!

  18. Hi Morgan!
So nice to meet you! One thing that stuck out to me was your Dr. Pepper love! I actually have a friend who got her wedding sponsored by them and they catered it by providing hundreds of classic glass bottles and ice cream. Maybe one day that will be you lol. I pumped to read more from you as you seem to be a very creative and fun person! I hope you are doing great and staying safe this semester and I look forward to reading more of your stories!

  19. Hi Morgan :)
It's great to meet you! It's so funny how we had similar childhoods for a time, just on opposite coasts! I was born and raised in Florida and we did a lot of stuff you and your family did—including moving to Texas for a few years before moving back to Florida! That's crazy!
I think that's so cool you're majoring in advertising. I dabbled in it a little bit in some of my earlier classes at Gaylord, and I know that stuff requires a lot of creative ingenuity!
I hope the rest of this semester goes great for you! :)

  20. Hi Morgan,
I think it is so cool that you have. lived so many different places. I also think that the two things you want to do while different fashion magazine and wedding planner you seem really passionate about it and I just think that is so cool. I wish you the best on whatever and where ever your life takes you. I also agree that city life is just so special.

  21. Hi Morgan,

That is so fun that you've lived all over the place. I am from California, and loved it too! I miss the constant sunshine and beaches so much! I would also love to meet Kate Middleton, or at least ask her how she gets her perfect hair! I hope you are enjoying the semester so far and I'm looking forward to reading your stories!

  22. Hey Morgan, it’s nice to meet you! It sounds like you’ve been all over the country! That’s really neat that you’ve had the opportunity to live everywhere from Dallas to California. I’ve never been to California, but I would really like to go some day. Also, Dr. Pepper is awesome. It should be the official drink of Texas! Good luck this semester

  23. Hi, Morgan! Your future career goals sound amazing - I think it would be fun, but also cultural to work in those types of fields. Gilmore Girls is such a good show to watch/put on in the background even if you’ve seen it several times before! That’s how I also feel with Friends and Gossip Girl, haha. I love cats, too! I have a cat named Oliver, or Ollie, and I love him. Maybe you can post a picture of Leo one day! It was nice to meet you and good luck with the rest of your senior year!

  24. Hi Morgan, It's so nice to meet you. I'm from Texas but more in the Dallas area than Houston. I did visit California but it's so large I've hardly made a dent. Chicago is a wonderful place too and has so much to offer. I love Gilmore Girls although I haven't watched the reboot. I agree about Reese Witherspoon, she just seems like so much fun!

  25. Hey Morgan,

I love the princess-ey look of your blog layout, it is super cute! Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows! It is the kind of show that I put on when I am feeling blue and need to be comforted. One of my favorite things is to see people get excited about pursuing their dreams. I am very impressed that you have so many great aspirations for yourself, I wish you nothing but luck in your endeavors. I always find it funny when I meet a fellow Dr. Pepper addict, I've found that we all seem to be from Texas or Oklahoma.
